Google made big changes to the ways their search results rank,   in the hope of offering it’s search users better results, google engineers published blog post which indicated there were 11.8% organic search results will be affected, in plain English, almost 12% of google search results are useless or of low quality. They planned and started the update about one year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, the good thing is that those keywords promoted by content rich links are not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it’s almost a sure thing that plain link building loses all it’s attraction, at least in the eye of google.

What is old way of link building any way? There are a lot of SEO company out there are doing this, they add your links to those linking websites without context, the only updates on those websites are the new links, almost all of them are garbage, we call these sites link spamming sites. Now google algorithm probably will weed out these sites, any links on them will be affected too. 

A few real world examples will help to explain what I said. In the very beginning, I didn’t know better, I started promote the keyword, Load Binder, at that time almost every body was doing plain linking campaign, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, and the worst thing is that those sites are linking sites only and had no content, not even crap content. I would give credit where credit is due, this linking strategy worked, finally the rank improved a lot, the party was over when google updated it’s algorithm. Here is another keyword, chain pullers, most back links for this keyword are from articles and posts, with very few plain links, now we have really good ranking for this keyword. Old and outdated linking campaign lost to content linking, what’s next? Actually this is all about content, so if you create great content, your rank will improve over time, since search engines are another kind of readers. It’s never too late to build good blogs for business purpose, for instance let’s examine this one, sue havens toy , in the beginning I just post to it casually, lately I added nice stuff left and right, now it can even rank the highly competitive keywords. As far as SEO concerned, creating quality content and blog marketing is what we have to do to get great result. At the end of day all you have to do is to create quality content, share the content with people, and put your keywords in the context you’re good to go, as long as you don’t stop doing this, you will win over customers and search engines. Last but not least, if you don’t take social media account, you’re lost. For wordpress blogs, I recommend twitter tools, then go ahead register a new twitter account and app, link your blog to twitter, then make sure every new post will post a new tweet, it’s easy and really useful, no one should miss this tool out.
